Skin and Bones / SEPT 2015

Dylan Nelson & Dan Boardman

Part One: Aviary Gallery, September 4th-28th

Part Two: Boston University, Annex Gallery, September 30th – November 9th

Dan Boardman is an artist living and working in Gloucester, Massachusetts. Dan’s photographs draw from a panoply of influences from Richard Feynman to Flannery O'Connor. In 2012 Dan received his MFA from Massachusetts College of Art and Design. He has taught at Harvard University, Boston University, and Massachusetts College of Art and Design. In 2013 he was awarded a Mass Cultural Council Grant for photography. Recently his work was exhibited at The Carpenter Center at Harvard University and The Mills Gallery at The Boston Center for the Arts,. In addition to his own photography practice Dan runs a small artist books collective called Houseboat Press.

Dylan was born in Connecticut and raised in Minnesota by a Scottish hairdresser and a painter from southern New Jersey. He attended college in rural Minnesota where he studied photography and graduated with distinction in his field. In 2010 he was a fellow with the Bau Institute in Otranto, Italy and a resident of the St. Olaf College art apprenticeship program. In 2014 he completed graduate studies at Massachusetts College of Art, in Boston, Massachusetts. He has shown work regularly in both Minnesota and Massachusetts. Dylan currently lives and works in New York City.
